Message from the 2nd Vice President: As 2nd Vice-President of NCSM, I will work to ensure the best professional development opportunities for mathematics leaders. In addition, I will collaborate with the Board to infuse newly developed projects and initiatives that will strengthen the infrastructure of NCSM while providing up-to-date, researched based information important for mathematics leaders at all levels. My goals are to serve you and make meaningful contributions to the organization. My current work with teachers and administrators provides varying lenses for me to understand the challenges facing schools today, especially in mathematics achievement. There are successful efforts, such as professional learning communities, for example, which are making a difference. The leadership of NCSM has the responsibility to ensure excellence and equity in program, policy, and leadership development through systemic efforts so that all mathematics leaders can do their jobs more effectively.
