Message from the President: It is difficult to describe my love for NCSM and my admiration of its tremendous presence as a leader for educational reform. I have had the privilege to serve the NCSM Board in a variety of positions since 1986, and I am completely committed to the mission of NCSM: Supporting mathematics education leadership at the school, district, college/university, state, province, and national levels for the purpose of creating greater equity and access to teaching of mathematics for all children. NCSM chooses to serve the development of mathematical craft knowledge as well as leadership craft knowledge. These are the two primary areas for which I have devoted my entire professional life.

Every era of mathematics reform has provided a crucial step forward for the next generation of student learners. This era is no different, and I would fully embrace the opportunity to lead our organization to the completion of this decade. Our work is important, and our work matters. It is my hope that if entrusted with the presidency of NCSM, I would be able to cast a vision that calls the next generation of mathematics leaders to continue our efforts to develop school cultures that promote a deep meaning and understanding of mathematics for all children.
