Strand Descriptions

The 2007 program features 6 topic strands:

Speakers will discuss and share models of professional development that support high quality teaching.

Strand 2. Assessments Supporting Leadership Decision Making

Speakers will discuss and share experiences with assessment strategies, techniques, and tools, and the use of collected data to make decisions for teaching and learning.

Strand 3. Technological Innovations in Mathematics Education

Speakers will discuss and share the latest state-of-the-art technology and models that hold promise to improve teaching and learning of mathematics.

Strand 4. Equity and Access Strategies for Mathematics Education Leaders

Speakers will discuss and share programs, strategies, and materials that ensure access to quality mathematics for all students.

Strand 5. Contributions of Other Cultures to Curriculum and Instruction

Speakers will discuss and share programs and strategies that have effectively incorporated the mathematics and contributions of other cultures into curriculum and instruction.
